Use Pause all add-ons in Pairwise when you want to stop showing the published offers. Pairwise pauses the offers; it does not need to switch off the Shopify theme embed. On the checked Horizon setup, the enabled embed can remain on while paused offers render nothing.

Pausing or unpublishing offers does not cancel a subscription. Uninstalling Pairwise is a separate Shopify action: it stops future recurring billing cycles under Shopify’s app-uninstall guidance, although a current-cycle charge already generated may remain. Pause published offers

  1. Open Pairwise from Shopify Admin and review the Your add-ons section.
  2. Choose Pause all add-ons to pause the published offers, or use one offer’s Published switch when you only need to pause that offer.
  3. Confirm that Pairwise shows the updated publication status. Do not infer that the Shopify embed was turned off; its saved state is separate.

While offers are paused or unpublished, they do not show to shoppers. When you are ready to resume, review the saved offer and use its explicit publication control. To activate a new or not-yet-published setup, follow the go-live steps.

Restore a connection

If Pairwise shows Automatic checks need a connection. Open Pairwise from Shopify Admin to reconnect. Published add-ons can expire until checks resume., return to the app from Shopify Admin. Published offers can expire while automatic checks are unavailable; read the saved status after you reconnect.

For a restored installation with saved work, choose Verify restored connection when Pairwise offers it. After verification, Pairwise says Connection verified. Review your saved offers before activating. Review each offer. The card may say Pairwise was reconnected. Turn this add-on on again to resume it. Use its explicit activation control only after review. Reopening Pairwise does not by itself confirm that an offer is live or paused.

Replace only an earlier Pairwise value

The Replace earlier Pairwise offers action is for a narrow recovery case: an earlier disabled or expired Pairwise value in Pairwise’s own Shopify namespace. It is not a way to import or replace another app’s offers. Pairwise does not replace an enabled or unparseable value automatically. If the state is uncertain, check the saved publication status before choosing another action.

Uninstall and data handling

Pausing offers, uninstalling Pairwise and requesting deletion are separate actions. Shopify may keep app-owned metafield values temporarily and clean them up asynchronously; there is no guaranteed physical-removal time. The Privacy notice describes Pairwise-controlled data handling and the supported contact route for privacy requests. Do not expect the pause control to delete Shopify data.
