Pairwise prepares a reviewable draft from the range you select. Preparation does not publish offers. Check the chosen catalogue scope, the source passages, each prepared group and every item held back before you decide what to edit or publish.
Start with the first scan
Choose Scan my store to begin the first preparation. That action starts the scan directly; it does not open a range picker. The selected catalogue can include up to 40 variants and 30,000 UTF-8 bytes; a selected collection can include up to 40 products. Preparation is subject to available service capacity.
If preparation stops, read the status shown in Pairwise before starting a fresh attempt; the page distinguishes an unfinished operation from a saved prepared result.
Read the prepared setup and evidence
In Your add-ons, prepared, inspect the product and variant, companion, format, heading, style and selected placements. A prepared setup is still a draft. The AI recommended label identifies the source of a suggestion; it does not certify it.
Where retained source passages are available, open Why this fits and read the quoted text with the product it belongs to. Open source leads to that product’s source when one is available. Pairwise uses eligible links found in selected product descriptions; it does not treat every page on a merchant’s site as input.
If the available product information cannot verify a pairing or a required compatibility detail, Pairwise holds it back rather than guessing. Review its stated reason and the underlying product information. A held suggestion is not a confirmed incompatibility, and Pairwise does not fill in missing product facts for you. The source-backed recommendations page explains this boundary.
The website’s synthetic Benchmark Trail Bottle 42 example shows a supported 42 mm threaded-cap passage beside a separate held cap whose compatible model, thread and opening size are unspecified. It is illustrative source text, not a live model result.
Understand the score
The Add-on score summarizes named catalogue and order checks. The visible areas include Catalogue clarity and Add-on sales. Catalogue clarity reflects how clearly descriptions explain products and their fit; add-on sales reflects how often add-ons appear in the checked order data. If order totals are still being checked or cannot be read, Pairwise shows that status rather than treating missing totals as proof.
This score is not a recommendation-accuracy rate, a measure of whether each pair is compatible, or a promise of sales. Review the source and offer details directly. Pairwise can hold an unsupported pairing even when a catalogue-level score looks strong.
Change range after a result or scope failure
Use Change range only after a result or when a scope limit prevents preparation. Under Available range, choose Entire catalogue or an eligible discovered collection. Pairwise checks up to 8 collections; if discovery is incomplete, additional collections may not appear. Opening the range panel does not itself start preparation or change the saved preview. Choose Prepare this range or Prepare the entire catalogue after checking that the chosen scope fits.
Decide what happens next
Use Review on an issue to read its reason and any Retained candidate evidence. You can adjust a prepared setup in Edit and save Pairwise add-ons, then follow the separate theme-save and offer-publication steps. Preparation, review and editing do not by themselves put an offer on the storefront.
